CLUB LEADERSHIP
MEET OUR COACHES
Steven Berry
Club Director & Head Coach
Steven Berry, originally from Warrington, England, relocated to the United States in 2013. His lifelong connection to football began at the age of four when his father established a local club in Warrington in 1995—a club that continues to thrive today with teams ranging from 5U through open age.
Throughout his playing career, Steven represented his hometown and notably competed for Everton. His dedication to the sport carried into his collegiate years in the United States, where he played for programs in both California and Hawaii.
Driven by a passion for player development and community building, Steven founded Silver State Athletic FC after settling in Reno, Nevada. His vision is to provide the youth of Northern Nevada with high-quality coaching, a professional training environment, and the opportunity to grow as both athletes and individuals. Steven believes in developing leaders on and off the field, emphasizing character, teamwork, and a lifelong love for the game.
Warren Rapp
Coach
Warren Rapp, a native of Reno, Nevada, grew up immersed in the game of soccer and became one of the first Division I scholarship athletes to emerge from the Reno–Carson City area, earning a place on the prestigious BYU Men’s Soccer team. In 1989, he was invited to the U.S. Olympic Soccer Trials—an experience that deepened his lifelong commitment to the sport.
Over the past four decades, Warren, who’s coached and played at nearly every level—including collegiate, high school, club, numerous youth teams, and military soccer teams—has helped develop generations of players across Nevada and beyond.
A former senior-level coach for the Las Vegas Premiere Soccer Academy in Southern Nevada, he now resides in Reno with his wife and four children, continuing to share his love for family, faith, and the beautiful game.
Nick (Nico) Gagnon
Coach
Nick (Nico) Gagnon grew up in the Greater Sacramento area and was a Division I athlete at Weber State University before graduating from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2009. With over 16 years of professional sports performance training and more than 4 years of soccer coaching in the Reno area, Nico holds USA Grassroots 7v7 and 9v9 coaching certifications and is also a USA/FIFA-certified referee. He has worked with the Real Madrid Foundation Camps USA and currently serves as Head Coach for Pine Middle School’s boys and girls soccer programs within the Washoe County School District. His coaching achievements include multiple tournament finals and league championships, and his philosophy centers on developing technically skilled, tactical players who master the basics—because, as he emphasizes, “first touch is everything.”
